Marshmallow Indulgence

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting with Samantha & Alexa from Lemley's Catering, based out of Columbus, Indiana. Although most of the conversation was focused on creating a fabulous menu for one of my clients, the most memorable part of our meeting was when they presented me with samples of their gourmet, homemade marshmallows!

Lemley's Catering named these sweet morsels "240Sweet Artisan Marshmallows", and they are made with Tahitian vanilla and other premium ingredients.

Yummmm.... 240Sweet Artisan Marshmallows are pillowy soft and dusted with sugar to keep them from being sticky, and they come in a wide variety of flavors (like Very Vanilla Bean, Cafe au Lait, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Toasted Coconut with Almond, Triple Berry - and many more!). New flavors are being added all the time, and I had the chance to sample the "Avocado" flavor - I know that sounds like an odd flavor, but it was delicious!

You can also get them dipped in chocolate! Truly indulgent.

You can purchase the marshmallows by the pound (2 pounds minimum order) and they have a shelf life of 6 weeks (non-chocolate-dipped) to 8 weeks (chocolate-dipped).

240Sweet Artisan Marshmallows would make a fabulous favor for your guests or a perfect addition to a candy bar or dessert buffet!!

Special thanks to Sam & Alexa for letting me have a taste!

Photofetti!!

This idea from Martha Stewart makes me so happy (as do most of her ideas). Photofetti! It's circular confetti with pictures on both sides, mixed in with colored confetti in the colors of your choice. Martha suggests sprinkling the confetti on reception tables to act as conversation-starters for your guests...

The Photofetti website also lists some other creative uses such as:
  • Sprinkled in invitations (engagement or baby photo confetti!)
  • Sprinkled in thank yous (wedding photo confetti!)
  • Included in scrapbooks
  • Tossed on the bride & groom

I'd like to add that this type of decorative accent would be perfect for bridal showers, too!

You can upload your photos on the Photofetti website and they are currently offering free shipping on certain quantities. I'm definitely bookmarking this site!

Garden Wedding Decor

I've never been much of a gardener - I'll be honest. The previous owners of my house THANKFULLY did an amazing job landscaping my yard, so I just have to make sure it doesn't get overgrown or overrun with weeds (still a challenge!). That doesn't stop me from buying cute gardening gloves & all types of tools to dig things out of the ground (at least I'm prepared!)... I have good intentions. :)

When it comes to gardens & weddings, I really love the idea of using common gardening items as decoration... especially for spring & summertime weddings

Example: Seed Packets. They make adorable table numbers. You can find flower, fruit & vegetable seed packets at your local lawn & garden store, or buy vintage seed packets on eBay or other antique shops online.

Another example: Potted Plants. They could be used as place cards or favors...

... and of course, as centerpieces! I just adore this color scheme + potted plant idea...

Tin Can Centerpieces

I simply adore this centerpiece arrangement:

{Source; found via The Bride's Guide}

Of course this idea is brought to you by Martha Stewart! This centerpiece collection actually doubles as guests' favors to take home at the end of the night. Double-duty and cost-effective!

If you are interested in doing this for your wedding, ask family members & friends to start saving their coffee & spice tins. To supplement the tins you find around the house & those that are donated to you, check out eBay for antique & vintage tins.

Favor or Gift: Cupcake Jars!

I was perusing Manolo for the Brides blog today and saw this post about cupcake favors/gifts. I scrolled further down in the post and saw this picture of the cutest little jars filled with cupcake goodness:

{Picture Source}

The above cupcake jars are made by Fat Daddy's Bake Shop, but it appears they are no longer selling these in their Etsy shop anymore.

HOWEVER.

There's nothing stopping you from making them yourself!

DIYBride's blog (she's so crafty!) posts a "tute" for how to make these little cuties:

I looked around online and found these 1/2 pint wide-mouth canning jars (similar to those used in the tutorial) for $4.49 (for 4 jars) on Goodman's website.

These little dessert jars would be great to give as gifts for moms, bridesmaids, out-of-towners, etc. Wrap ribbon in your wedding colors around the lid, print a circular label for the top, and there you go!
